Chasm: The Rift is a marginally above-average first-person shooter that would have probably been better known had it been released before the likes of Quake II and Jedi Knights. Like most 3D shooters, Chasm incorporates only a vaguely thought-out story. There are different 'rifts' in time, and aggressive creatures from the past, present and future are infiltrating our time. Chasm: The Rift is the first game from Ukrainian developers Action Forms, who are perhaps best known for the still-sold Carnivores series. With a budget price-point and a style that so obviously compares to Quake, can it stand up to that seminal shooter? Or does it deserve the relative obscurity it has ultimately received? This game is a cookie-cutter FPS while Quake 2 comes out, according to GameSpot.

I had the mouse problem also , i fixed it by making a chasm.bat sensitivity=0 then launches the game.

can anyone tell me why the camera keeps turning around by itself without me touching the mouse?? i would really love to know

Chasm was the last game to use the Doom/Heretic/Hexen engine, it's very enhanced since then. Gurra991, the iD FPS games are actually Open Source. But the registered WAD files are still commercial. This is why we have millions of sourceports out there
Unfortunately there is no sourceport of this one. I thought there was, but I mixed it up with Strife. Bummer.

All of the doom games aren't abandonware (dunno if any of 'em is) Quake isn't abandonware and nor is Duke Nukem, Sure they are all good but not abandonware
